National Science Award Winner

Congratulations to Abby Herrington for her exceptional performance at the National Science Fair which took place in Ottawa earlier this month. Abby recieved a silver medal for her project titled "Le Pouvoir des Polymeres/The Power of Polymers". Abby was also the highest placing participant from New Brunswick. We are extremely proud of her achievement.

Eye Spy What's Right!

All students, teachers and members of the community in School Districts 6 & 8 will have an opportunity to participate in EYE SPY WHAT’S RIGHT this month. This fun, easy, interactive event is taking place May 26th – 30th and is part of our Celebrate What’s Right with the World initiative.

How does it work?
During the week of May 26th and May 30th, students, staff and members of the community will have the opportunity to log-on to our EYE SPY WHAT’S RIGHT website and tell us something that is RIGHT with the world! Everyone who participates will be eligible for a prize! It’s that easy!

Win Prizes & Be Recognized!

An elementary school, middle school and high school in each school district with the greatest participation will win the EYE SPY WHAT’S RIGHT Trophy!

Random draws will be held so that one student from each grade level in every school will win an EYE SPY WHAT’S RIGHT prize!

Prizes will also be awarded to members of the community and School staff!

So start thinking about what YOU think is RIGHT with your world – and share the details with us starting May 26!

Community Day

Forest Hills School in Saint John NB will be hosting a community day on Saturday June 7, 2008 from 11 am-2pm. The purpose of this event is to promote organizations and the school and re-ignite a community spirit.

We would like to invite organizations to this event. We will provide a table for organizations and advertising for the event. Should any interested organizations not be able to attend and would like to send pamphlets/pens/etc. for an information table we will gladly place them on a general information table. We hope you will be able to come and join us and let the Forest-Glen community know what your organization is all about!

Upcoming online web seminar - Anaphylaxis 101

Anaphylaxis Canada is pleased to announce the launch of its first online web seminar, Anaphylaxis 101, which will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 from 12 noon to 1 pm. Our first web seminar will focus on the basics of anaphylaxis and the need-to-know information every patient requires such as what is anaphylaxis; signs and symptoms; common causes of anaphylaxis; how to use an auto-injector and tips for creating an allergy safe environment. This seminar is being offered free of charge across the country to anyone with an interest in anaphylaxis, such as parents of allergic children, educators, child care workers, public health and other caregivers.
