Mrs. Dunlop's Grade 3 Class Wins Contest

We are please to annoucement that Mrs. Dunlop's class has won the Reading is Cool Contest sponsored by Country Inn and Suites and Canwest Raise A Reader Program. As the contest winners the school will recieve an award of $1000 to support our school library. We would like to thank the students for their hard work and Mrs. Dunlop for encouraging their participation in this initiative.

Forest Hills Students Excel at District Heritage Fair

Forest Hills School is please to acknowledge and congratulate several of our students who where recognized at School District 8's Regional Heritage Fair which told place at the New Brunswick Museum.

3rd Place Danielle Hewitt & Machaela Kincade “L’Acadie”

Also, Emmy Keddy "Fire in Minto" recieved the Nancy Award (sponsored by the New Brunswick Advisory Council on the Status of Women)

Family Literacy Night

Forest Hills School will be hosting a Family Literacy Night on Thursday, April 22 from 6:00pm until 7:30pm for K-5. Please bring the family out and share in our love of literacy.

Environment Week Activities April 19 - 23

Monday - Blue and Green Day. Students and Staff are encourage to wear Blue and Green. There will be a face painting booth set up at noon.

Tuesday - Fundraising for the Animal Rescue League. Bring your favorite stuffed animal to school and give a donation.

Wednesday - Garbage less Wednesday. Students and Staff are encouraged to bring recyclable lunch and snack items to school.

Thursday - Earth Day/Lights Out Canada - Schools across Canada will be turning off the lights to raise awareness about climate change.

Friday - School/Community Clean Up - Students and Staff will join together to clean up our school. There will also be a presentation by the Atlantic Coastal Action Plan during the grade level assemblies.

Student Led Conferences

Student Led Conferences take place this week on Wednesday, April 7th from 4 - 7pm and on Friday, April 9th from 1-3pm. Please contact your child's teacher to arrange for an appointmenet. See you then.

Grade 6 Registration

Registration Forms and Information sheets will be sent home with ALL Grade 5 students on Monday, March 8th, 2010. All students must register for Grade 6 (English, Late Immersion or continuing in Early Immersion). The Deadline for returning registration forms is the morning of Friday, March 26th.

An Information session for Late Immersion will be held at Bayside Middle School on Thursday, March 11th at 6:30 pm (Snow Date is March 16th - same time and location).

Forest Hills School Recieves Award


Mrs. J. O'Blenes and Mlle. K. Brodhagen will recieve Provincial Award for their work with the Senior and Junior Spirit Leaders on Wednesday, February 17 at a ceremony in Fredericton at the New Brunswick Lieutenant Governor's Estate. The New Brunswick Association for Community Living has recognized the teachers and students for their commitment to promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity through various initiatives at the school. We are very pround of their efforts.
