
PWACSWNB Short Story Contest
Students 18 years and younger, attending school in the counties of Kings, Queens, Charlotte or St. John are invited to write and submit a short story of up to 1,500 words to submit to the South West chapter of the Professional Writers Association of Canada's short story contest. Stories written in English or French are acceptable. All entrants are invited to attend the presentation ceremony to be held at the Imperial Theatre,
Applicants should carefully read the following rules and regulations;
1. All entries must be original works, in English or French.
2. No entry fee is required.
3. All rights to the story will remain the property of the author.
4.To be eligible, entries must not exceed 1,500 words in length.
5. Hand written entries will not be accepted.
6. All entries should be either typewritten or a computer printout in black ink on white paper, double-spaced, with numbered pages.
7. All other formats will be disqualified.
8.Each entry must have a separate cover page with the title of the work, the author's name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and word count. All subsequent pages must carry the story title and a page number .
9. THE AUTHOR'S NAME MUST NOT APPEAR ON THE STORY PAGES..

Entries will be judged by professional authors.
Manuscripts will not be returned after judging.
A certificate of achievement and a cheque for $250 will be awarded each winning entry at the awards ceremony at the Imperial Theater,
